| Green Repairs After several failed attempts to get seed to germinate in the patch near the gate we thought "sod it!" so that is just what we have done. New pieces of turf have been laid and hopefully in a few weeks we will have an invisible repair. Tree lopping The council have approved the severe cutting back of the trees that either are or are not the responsibility of Mr Kent. However, we do not yet know when they will carry out the work. Friendly fixtures In a mixed triples at Chesham we won 58-47 with the highest winning rink of Kevin Dwyer, Derek Farnish and Nick Maris. At home to Marlow in a mixed triple an honourable draw was achieved 102-102 with Ed Poole, Hugh Russell and David Thomson forming the highest winning rink. The ladies had a comprehensive home win against Flackwell Heath. The first leg of the Friendship Trophy saw Iver walk away with a 13 shot lead to defend in the return leg at Iver in August. The score was 101-88 and the highest winning rink comprised Kevin Dwyer, Michael Gomme and David Grieve. Chiltern and Thames We started this year's campaign with a loss to Loudwater by 8 points to 2. Top Club Bassetsbury Manor were our victims as we progressed to the next round of the National Two Fours. Bucks Cup On a very wet and uncomfortable night we overcame Iver by 12 points to 2 with the last woods being delivered in almost complete darkness. EBA David Grieve lost his Unbadged singles match against Martin Marriot of Burnham 21-19 in a quality match. Leading 19-11 David just ran out of the little bit of luck that is needed to close the match out against an opponent who was on a roll. Chris Poole also lost to Rod Evans from Iver by 21-16. Chris must be congratulated for reaching this far at such an early stage of his career against much more experienced opponents.
