Social Events

This is a new and exciting year for both the Club and the web site. The Social news page will be a new part of our website and will provide information to all members on all Social events during the course of the current year.

Our intention will be to include all aspects of the Social programme and will include dates, start times and entrance fees. After each event we will attempt to include news, raffle winners and photos.

Our current Social Committee consists of Ray & Maureen Merry, Mary Smith, Bob Leeson and Hugh Russell. We are always happy to welcome additions to our Committee so if you are interested, contact one of the current members.

The Social Committee have already programmed the events for 2010 and they will include a Cocktail party to open the season. This was a popular addition last year and we felt that, following requests from the members, we should make it an annual event. Our events this year will therefore be :

New season Cocktail Evening Saturday, 24th April 7:00pm
Themed Mexican Night Saturday, 5th June 5th
7:00pm

Annual Hog Roast
Saturday, 17th July 17th
6:30pm

Fun Night Social
Friday, 10th September

Annual Race Night Friday, 17th September
7:00pm

Dinner & Dance
Saturday, 20th November

We are of course always open to new suggestions from our members.

Attendances at these events vary between 60 and 90 people, but we do want to encourage others to come along to support the club and of course, enjoy the evening.

Those who attended the Fun Night social last year thoroughly enjoyed a choice of two main courses and a desert at minimal cost followed by a turn from our resident entertainer, Bob Leeson. It was open to all members as well as the fun bowlers.

The main aim for all these events is to provide our members with an enjoyable Social evening in addition to making money for the club.

In 2008 our events brought a profit to the Club of £1300 plus bar profits, and this past Centenary year, with all the extra costs, still resulted in a profit of £700.

So if you have not been able to attend any event over the past two years, why not come along this year and make 2010 an enjoyable year for you and another successful year for the Club.
